The Sun StorageTek 2530 RoHS:YL array was introduced in June 2007 as the direct replacement for the StorEdge 3320. At 2 rack units, the StorageTek 2530 is low-profile, high-density, modular, and enables customers to start small and grow big when they’re ready. Dual-active controllers and up to 12 SAS or SATA drives combine to create a highly available storage system in the 2U enclosure. The 2530 array accepts both SAS and SATA disk drives, and, as of March 2010, has been sold with the following capacity drives: 73GB - 15000 RPM SAS, 146GB - 15000 RPM SAS, 300GB - 15000 RPM SAS, 400GB - 10000 RPM SAS, 450GB - 15000 RPM SAS, 500GB - 7200 RPM SATA, 600GB - 15000 RPM SAS, 750GB - 7200 RPM SATA, 1TB - 7200 RPM SATA, and 2TB - 7200 RPM SATA. When capacity or performance requirements change, the StorageTek 2530 array’s scalability supports up to 36 additional drives, for 48 total drives and up to 96 TB of storage. The StorageTek 2530 array supports RAID levels 0, 1, (1+0), 3, 5, 6, (p+q), and cache battery backup up to 72 hours (depending on cache size).
Sun has a free-to-the-public field engineer's handbook called Sunsolve. The handbook pages for the Sun StorageTek 2530 array can be viewed by clicking here.

Introduced in October of 2002 as the replacement for the StorEdge A1000, the Sun StorEdge 3310 SCSI array is a low-profile, high-density, modular storage system. The space-efficient 12-drive array supports hundreds of gigabytes of storage, one or two RAID controllers, 128 LUNs, and multiple host connections. The design allows the addition of capacity in single-drive increments, or with low-cost expansion units. The system's single or dual RAID controllers and Web interface enable quick capacity expansion, allowing for the addition of hundreds of drives and thousands of LUNs. The 3310 array is designed to withstand some of the harshest environments, and is ruggedized to meet full NEBS Level 3 certification, and the air, land, and marine deployment of the MIL-STD-810F specification. The StorEdge 3310 array was EOL’d (end-of-lifed) in January, 2006, and was replaced by the StorEdge 3320.

Introduced in December 2005, the Sun StorEdge 3320 SCSI array is a low-profile, high-density, modular storage system, and a direct replacement for the StorEdge 3310. The space-efficient 12-drive array supports up to 3.6 terabytes of storage; one or two RAID controllers; RAID levels 0, 1, 3, 5, 1+0, 3+0, and 5+0; 128 LUNs; and multiple host connections. The design allows the addition of capacity in single-drive increments, or with low-cost expansion units. The system's single or dual RAID controllers and Web interface enable quick capacity expansion, allowing for the addition of hundreds of drives and thousands of LUNs.The 3320 array is designed to withstand some of the harshest environments, and is ruggedized to meet full NEBS Level 3 certification, and the air, land, and marine deployment of the MIL-STD-810F specification. The 3320 array uses 73 GB Ultra-320 1” 10K and 15K disk drives, 146 GB Ultra-320 1” 10K and 15K disk drives, and 300 GB Ultra-320 1” 10K and 15K disk drives. Both the 3320 array and the disk drives are RoHS:YL compliant. Lastly, the 3320 array was EOL’d (end-of-lifed) in December 2009.
